Service Description
BellSouth Simplified Message Desk Interface (SMDI) service is a switch feature that provides call data to a voice messaging provider and allows the provider to signal his end user.
With SMDI, voice-messaging providers receive basic information about calls made to their subscribers. Sometimes referred to as the backbone for voice messaging service providers, SMDI provides pertinent information for your voice messaging platform.
Data transmitted from BellSouth switch to VMS platform:
* Calling Telephone Number
* Called Telephone Number
* Reason for Call Being Forwarded (Busy/ No Answer).
Data transmitted from VMS platform to BellSouth switch:
* Message Waiting Indication - Audible or Visual
BellSouth ISMDI is the inter-switch version of SMDI. ISMDI takes advantage of the BellSouth CCS7 signaling network which is interconnected with BellSouth switches to transmit the information provided by SMDI, enabling you to offer voice messaging to multiple locations using a single data facility interconnection.
Whether your customers are located in big cities, small towns or single organizations, you can offer the voice messaging capabilities that meet their particular needs when you have BellSouth Simplified Message Desk Interface and ISMDI.
