FlexServe NRC Promotion FAQs



  1. What is the FlexServ NRC Promotion?
  A. With this promotion, BellSouth is proposing to waive the non- recurring charges (nrc) associated with FlexServ service for customer monitoring and reconfiguration of DS1 and DS3 services.
  2. How does the FlexServ NRC Promotion work?
  A. The promotion, that is targeted to become effective 9/1/2006, is as follows: If a customer orders a new FlexServ arrangement in conjunction with a new or existing SPA DS1 or DS3 for the purpose of DS3-DS3, DS1-DS3, DS0-DS3, DS1-DS1 or DSO-DS1 Switching, reconfiguration or monitoring and places that FlexServ arrangement under a 36 month CSPP agreement, the customer will have the NRC charges for the FlexServ service portion only, credited by BellSouth.
  3. How long is the promotional period?
  A. The promotional period will last for 6 months and is proposed to begin September 1, 2006 and end February 28, 2007.
  4. Are there any additional benefits associated with this promotion?
  A. No, not with this promotion.
  5. Are there any other qualifications associated with this promotion?
  A. To be eligible for this promotion, a customer must:

  1. Not order this service at/to or terminating at/to collocation sites/arrangements
  2. Order eligible circuits/Services from the FCC # 1 tariff during the promotional period.
  6. Does the Interconnection customer need to do anything different to participate in this promotion?
  A. No, all they need to do is order this service as they normally would, during the promotional period and the service shall become eligible for a waiver if it meets the aforementioned qualifying criteria.
  7. Can an Interconnection customer who has an existing SPA DS1 or DS3 with FlexServ service for switching, monitoring or reconfiguration participate in this offering?
  A. If the existing FlexServ service is currently being billed as month-to-month, the customer will not receive a wavier under this promotion.
  8. How and when will any rebates be applied if, the aforementioned qualifications are met by the customer?
  A. The rebate credit for NRC will be applied as an OC&C to the customers CABS bill, by BAN and circuit, 1 month in arrears. The OC&C is proposed to read as follows: Phrase Code 760 (ONE-TIME CREDIT FOR) with the following narrative:

along with the rebate amount, if applicable.

  9. Are there any penalties if a customer disconnects the FlexServ arrangement prior to completion of the CSPP contract?
  A. Yes, if the customer disconnects the FlexServ arrangement associated with a SPA DS1 or DS3 prior to completion of the CSPP 24 month minimum contract period, the termination liability shall be equal to 100% of the NRC waived for the FlexServ service that was ordered or placed under contract during the promotional period. The 24 month CSPP clock will begin on the date the FlexServ is placed under the 36 month agreement in BellSouth’s billing system.
  10. How will I be notified of the effective date of this promotion?
  A. A Carrier Notification Letter will be posted to the Interconnection Services Internet site prior to onset of the promotion. Also, an announcement banner will be placed on the ICS web portal advertising the launching of this promotion for Interconnection customers.
  11. Will there be any additional promotions like this one in the future?
  A. BellSouth Interconnection Services will continue to look at promotional opportunities in accordance with the demands and changing times of the competitive transport marketplace.
