Network Visibility Service (NVS) and Configuration Management Capability (CMCS) Promotion FAQs



  1. What is the NVS and CMCS Promotion?
  A. With this promotion, AT&T is proposing to credit back the first two months' recurring charges (mrc) associated with CMCS service for customer reconfigurable Frame Relay DLCIs.
  2. How does this Promotion work?
  A. The promotion, that is targeted to become effective 9/1/2006, is as follows:  If a customer orders a new CMCS reconfigurable DLCI arrangement in conjunction with a new or existing Frame Relay service for the purpose of reconfiguration and agrees to keep the CMCS arrangement in service for 12 months, the customer will have the MRC charges for the CMCS Reconfigurable DLCI portion only, credited by AT&T.
  3. How long is the promotional period?
  A. The promotional period will last for 6 months and is proposed to begin September 1, 2006 and end February 28, 2007.
  4. Where are NVS and CMCS located in the FCC #1 tariff?
  A. These services are located in Section 21 with NVS in section 21.6.1 and CMCS in 21.1.9.
  5. Are there any other qualifications associated with this promotion?
  A. To be eligible for this promotion, a customer must:
  1. Not order this service at/to or terminating at/to collocation sites/arrangements
  2. Order eligible circuits/Services from the FCC # 1 tariff
  6. Does the Wholesale customer need to do anything different to participate in this promotion?
  A. No, all they need to do is order this service as they normally would, during the promotional period and the service shall become eligible for a credit if it meets the aforementioned qualifying criteria.
  7. Can a Wholesale customer who has an existing Frame Relay service participate in this offering?
  A. Yes, they can have their FR DLCI changed to reconfigurable and then they will have the ability to reconfigure their Frame relay service.
  8. How and when will any rebates be applied if, the aforementioned qualifications are met by the customer?
  A. The rebate credit for MRC will be applied as an OC&C to the customers CABS bill, by BAN and circuit, 1 month in arrears. The OC&C is proposed to read as follows: Phrase Code 760 (ONE-TIME CREDIT FOR) with the following narrative:

along with the rebate amount, if applicable.

  9. Are there any penalties if a customer disconnects the CMCS reconfigurable DLCI arrangement prior to completion of the 12 month minimum term as set forth in this promotion?
  A. Yes, if the customer disconnects the CMCS DLCI arrangement associated with a Frame Relay service prior to completion of the 12 month minimum period, the termination liability shall be equal to 100% of the MRC waived for the CMCS service that was ordered or during the promotional period. The 12 month CMCS clock will begin on the date the CMCS is in service in the BellSouth billing system.
  10. How will I be notified of the effective date of this promotion?
  A. An Accessible Letter will be posted to the Wholesale web site prior to onset of the promotion. Also, an announcement banner will be placed on the site advertising the launching of this promotion for Wholesale customers.
  11. Will there be any additional offerings like this one in the future?
  A. AT&T Wholesale will continue to look at opportunities in accordance with the demands and changing times of the competitive marketplace.
