Calling Number Delivery Blocking (Per Line)

[GA, NC, SC]

  • Calling Number Delivery Blocking (CNDB) Per Line allows a customer to prevent delivery of their telephone number, on all outgoing calls, to a called party who subscribes to a Caller ID service.

[TN]

  • Calling Number Delivery Blocking (CNDB) Per Line allows only a Non-Published or Non-Listed customer to prevent delivery of their telephone number, on all outgoing calls, to a called party who subscribes to a Caller ID service.

[GA, NC, SC, TN]

  • Calling Number Delivery Blocking (CNDB) Per Line is in operation on a continuous basis and cannot be deactivated by the customer.

    Exception: If the access code (*82) is dialed on a line with CNDB-PER LINE, the line "toggles off" line blocking therefore, delivering the customer's telephone name and/or number on that particular call. The next call made will not transmit the telephone name an/or number unless (*82) is activated again.

    Customers with CNDB-PER LINE blocking must be aware of this access code, in order to turn off their PER LINE Blocking on a Per Call basis.

  • Calling Number Delivery Blocking (CNDB) Per Line should only be discussed during customer contacts if the customer raises the issue.

[NC]

  • A formal notice regarding the availability of CNDB-PER LINE Blocking will be provided on all new orders. This notice will be included in the existing confirmation letter.

The restrictions for Calling Number Delivery Blocking (CNDB) Per Line are:

  • Provided subject to availability of facilities where technically feasible
  • Company assumes no liability and will be held harmless for any incompatibility of customer's premises equipment to perform satisfactorily with this feature

[TN]

  • Only available to customers with Non-Pub or Non-List service

[SC]

  • Will not be billed a monthly charge when service is suspended (vacation service)

[GA, NC, TN]

  • In 1A ESS Central Office, this is group feature and provisioned on Multi-Line Hunt Group and can not be provisioned on an individual line

[SC]

  • In 1A ESS Central Office, this is group feature and provisioned on Multi-Line Hunt Group and can not be provisioned on an individual line, however it is still billed on a PER LINE basis where applicable

[GA, NC, SC, TN]

  • In 5 ESS and DMS-100 Central Offices, CNDB-PER LINE is a line feature and must be provisioned on each line
  • PER LINE blocking does not block a customer's telephone number from being sent to an E911 operator
  • Cannot be provisioned on:
Party Line service (2, 4 or 8)
Trunks
Outwats (DMS-100 only)
Coin/Coinless Phones
Hotel/Motel Service

Feature Interactions

The following are feature interactions with TouchStar Calling Number Delivery Blocking (CNDB) Per Line:

  • Call Return/Repeat Dialing
    Both Call Return and Repeat Dialing can be activated to a caller who has activated CNDB-Per Line blocking. However, Call Return-Enhanced customer will not be voiced back the telephone number of a person who has activated CNDB-Per Line.
  • Call Tracing
    Calls can be traced to a caller who has activated CNDB-Per Line.
  • All Call Forwarding Features
    The telephone number of a caller who has activated CNDB-Per Line will not be displayed to the remote station of any Call Forwarding customer. This applies to Call Forwarding, Call Forwarding Busy Line, Call Forwarding Don't Answer and Preferred Call Forwarding.
  • Call Block, Call Selector, Preferred Call Forwarding
    The telephone number of a person who has activated CNDB-Per Line customer will not be voiced back to a TouchStar Call Block, Call Selector or Preferred Call Forwarding customer when they edit their list.
