Description

Remote Access To Call Forward (RACF) includes the basic feature, Call Forwarding Variable (CFV) and provides the user the ability to activate and deactivate the feature either from the provisioned line or remotely from a location equipped with Touchtone signaling

How To Use

Using Remote Access to Call Forwarding Variable is easy; you just listen to the prompts (instructions) after dialing the SPECIAL ACCESS NUMBER. See the following instructions for the various switches.EWSD
To Activate from Remote Location:

  1. Dial the SPECIAL ACCESS NUMBER. Dial your 7-digit home or office telephone number that has REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE, followed by you PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER and #. (See NOTE 1) Dial the CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE code 72#. Listen for two short tones followed by dial tone.
  2. Dial the number to which you want your CALL FORWARDED. If you must dial a 1 or area code to reach this number form your home or office, then do so. (See NOTE 2)

    If you get a busy signal or no answer, REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE can still be established by repeating Steps 1-4, and no answer is necessary. (After you repeat Steps 1-4, you will hear only two short tones followed by dial tone). To minimize dissatisfaction explain to the customer up-front, thiS may result in the placing of two toll calls or two coin calls.

To Deactivate from Remote Location:

  1. Dial the SPECIAL ACCESS NUMBER. Dial your 7-digit home or office telephone number that has REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE, followed by you PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER and #. (See NOTE 1)
  2. Dial the CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE deactivation code 73#, two short tones will confirm your request.

NOTES:

  1. You have three chances to enter the correct telephone number that has REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE and your PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. After three attempts, you will be disconnected. You must hang up and try again.
  2. If you forward calls to any number outside your local calling area, you will be charged for any calls forwarded from your number to the distant number.

1A and 5ESS
To Activate from Remote Location:

  1. Dial the SPECIAL ACCESS NUMBER. Dial your 7-digit home or office telephone number that has REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE. The dialed telephone number will be repeated to allow for correction if dialed incorrectly. Dial your PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER and #. (See NOTE 1) Dial the CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE code 72#.
  2. Dial the number to which you want your CALLS FORWARDED and #. If you must dial a 1 or area code to reach this number from your home or office, then do so. Then forwarded to telephone number dialed will be repeated to allow for correction if dialed incorrectly. (See NOTE 2)

To Deactivate from Remote Location:

  1. Dial the SPECIAL ACCESS NUMBER. Dial your 7-digit home or office telephone number that has REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE. The dialed telephone number will be repeated to allow for correction if dialed incorrectly. Dial you PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER and #. (See NOTE 1)
  2. Dial the CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE deactivation code 73#. Dial 1 to confirm deactivation.

To Activate from Remote Location:

  1. Dial the SPECIAL ACCESS NUMBER. Dial your 7-digit home or office telephone number that has REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE, followed by your PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER and #. (See NOTE 1) Dial the CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE code 72#. Dial the number to which you want your CALLS FORWARDED and #. If you must dial a 1 or area code to reach this number from your home or office, then do so. (See NOTE 2)
  2. The forwarded to telephone number dialed will be repeated to allow for correction if dialed incorrectly.

    Dial 1 to confirm - two short tones will confirm your request.

    Dial 2 to change.

To Deactivate from Remote Location:

  1. Dial the SPECIAL ACCESS NUMBER. Dial your 7-digit home or office telephone number that has REMOTE ACCESS TO CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE, followed by your PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER and #. (See NOTE 1)
  2. Dial the CALL FORWARDING VARIABLE deactivation code 73#, two short tones will confirm your request.

Restrictions
  • Forward only to the primary number in a Ringmaster group Not compatible with Prestige Will not bill a monthly charge when service is suspended (vacation service) Calls will continue to be forwarded without interruption if changing from Call Forwarding (ESM) to Remote Access to Call Forwarding (GCZ) and ESM is activated at the time the order is worked. A new PID Number is generated when a current RACF customer moves.
  • 1A ESS central office — if RACF used to activate Call Forwarding to a terminal, then RACF must be used to deactivate Call Forwarding.
