Ring Master Service



Description

RingMaster service enables two or three telephone numbers to share one line. A unique ringing pattern is provided for each of the additional numbers. This allows a customer to determine prior to answering a call, which number the calling party has dialed.

The following details ring cycle patterns in seconds and milliseconds. The ring pattern is also provided.


1A ESS, 5 ESS, DMS-100, EWSD, DCO

Primary Number: 2 seconds on, 4 seconds off (Ring pattern - normal ring)

Secondary Number: 800 milliseconds on, 400 milliseconds off, 800 milliseconds on, 4 seconds off (Ring pattern - short - short)

Tertiary number: 300 milliseconds on, 200 milliseconds off, 1 second on, 200 milliseconds off, 300 milliseconds on, 4 seconds off (Ring pattern - short - long - short)

2B ESS

Primary Number: 2 seconds on, 4 seconds off (Ring pattern -normal ring)

Secondary Number: 800 milliseconds on, 400 milliseconds off, 800 milliseconds on, 4 seconds off (Ring pattern -short - short)

Tertiary number: 300 milliseconds on, 200 milliseconds off, 1000 milliseconds on, 200 milliseconds off, 300 milliseconds on, 4 seconds off (Ring pattern - short - long - short)

DMS-10

This office is only able to provide RingMaster I capability.

Primary Number: 2 seconds on, 4 seconds off (Ring pattern -normal ring)

Secondary Number: 768 milliseconds on, 512 milliseconds off, 768 milliseconds on, 4.09 seconds off (Ring pattern - long - short - long)

Restrictions

RingMaster service restrictions are:

  • There is only one talking path
  • It's a terminating service only
  • Originating calls are on the master number
  • Dependent numbers do not qualify for free Yellow Page heading
  • Dependent numbers do not qualify for free Foreign Listing (FLF)
  • 1A ESS office, when forwarding calls from another number to a RingMaster number - a distinctive ring is not possible when Call Forward Busy Line (CFBL) or Call Forward Don't Answer (CFDA) is used to forward call
  • May not use MCFI with CFBL or CFDA
  • May not use GOER with CFBL or CFDA
  • Not compatible with:
    • Back-up Line in DMS 100 office CENTREXESSX Trunks Multi-line Hunting FX FGA Some electronic sets Series Hunt in a D10 Switch Obsolete Prestige Service [NC]
    • Personal Paging Services [NC]
  • RingMaster is now compatible with:
    • Unbundled Prestige (in all but the 1A ESS Central Office)
    • Series Completion Hunting (all except D10 CO's)
    • Lines terminating in key equipment (all CO's)

Interactions with Custom Calling Services

Interaction between RingMaster and Custom Calling Services:
Call Waiting
A distinctive Call Waiting tone is provided on the RingMaster number(s).
Call Forwarding Variable
Service available in two options:

  1. Call Forward all numbers.
  2. Call Forward primary number only.

Call Forwarding Busy Line/Call Forwarding Don't Answer

  • When either one of these forwarding features is used, both primary and RingMaster number(s) are forwarded.
    • Interactions with Remote Call Forwarding
    • RCF will forward to a ringmaster number and provide distinctive ringing. The Ringmaster number must be different than the RCF number.

Interactions with Touchstar Services
[AL, KY, LA, TN, MS, GA, SC, NC ]
TouchStar services are provisioned on the primary number. Since calls cannot be made from a RingMaster number, TouchStar services will not work on the RingMaster number.


Interactions between RingMaster and TouchStar Services - FL

  • RingMaster customer will receive a distinctive ring on Call Return and Repeat Dial. (Short, Short, Long) Only the Primary Number can be entered on a screening list services.(Screening List Services are call block, Call Selector, Preferred Call Forwarding) The Primary Number will be displayed on a Caller ID Display Unit The Primary and Dependent numbers are blocked when a RingMaster subscriber makes an out going call if Per Line Blocking or Per Call Blocking is activated. Call Selector is not available with RingMaster II.
  • Anonymous Call Rejection will reject all RingMaster Numbers if the RingMaster calling subscriber has Per Line Blocking or activates Per Call Blocking.
