BellSouth MegaLink Plus service offers more of what you love about BellSouth® MegaLink® service — reliability. This premium DS1 (1.544 Mbps digital transmission) service is distinguished by its high degree of reliability and survivability.
Build on fiber, MegaLink Plus utilizes a self-healing architecture to provide local loop facility protection — limiting circuit vulnerability to single point loop failures. The point to point nature of MegaLink Plus is ideal for connecting cell sites to their switching center.
Because of BellSouth's confidence in its reliability, MegaLink Plus is supported by a sixty-second service guarantee on monthly recurring charges. Service installation guarantee is also a part of the offering (where facilities exist).

And its easy to interconnect BellSouth MegaLink Plus service with BellSouth's other higher speed services like SMARTRing and LightGate to create a seamless high speed network.
Using FlexServ in tandem with BellSouth MegaLink Service, you can monitor your circuits, and reconfigure traffic on the fly.
Service Design
BellSouth MegaLink Plus service is a fiber-based, DS1 level service designed to provide the reliability and survivability you need.
MegaLink Plus is provisioned over a one hundred percent fiber local loop, with diverse routing to your cell sites or other end locations guaranteed. We're working to give 99.98 percent circuit availability and 99.95 percent error free seconds or better. Here's how:
Each span of your MegaLink Plus service is composed of two separate fiber paths — a primary path and a diverse path. In the event of a cable cut or other mishap, our self-healing service gets your traffic back on track over a completely separate, pre-assigned fiber route. It's like getting multiple services in one. And it's guaranteed.
In fact, if there is an outage on your BellSouth MegaLink Plus service, we promise to switch your service to an alternate path in sixty seconds or less, or we'll credit you for that month's service.
And BellSouth MegaLink Plus service doesn't require costly equipment upgrades or special monitoring systems. It works with standard industry interfaces, and it works with BellSouth FlexServ service, our real-time network management tool.
Availability & Pricing
MegaLink Plus service is provided where facilities presently exist with the capacity to provide fiber-based, structurally diverse routes. In locations where fiber facilities do not exist, special construction charges apply as set forth in Section B5 of the Private Line Tariff to provide such service to a customer.
BellSouth MegaLink Plus Service is composed of local channels (channels between a BellSouth Central Office and a customer location (i.e. a wireless tower)) and interoffice channels (channels between two BellSouth Central Offices).
The pricing structure of BellSouth MegaLink Service is as follows:
- Local Channels: Flat-rate pricing in 3 states. The remaining states offer mileage sensitive rates.
- Interoffice Channels: There is flat-rate price for each element. In addition, there are usage charges based upon the length of the channel.
Customers willing to commit to a term plan can save over month-to-month costs of the service by ordering service under the Channel Services Payment Plan (CSPP). There are three plans to choose from:
Plan A — 24 to 48 months
Plan B — 49 to 60 months
Plan C — 61 to 90 months

Ordering & Implementation
All orders for MegaLink Plus Service must be ordered via the Complex Services Profile System (CSPS). Marketing is responsible for initiating the Service Inquiry (SI). Contact your Account Team member to handle ordering for you.
Where facilities exist, the service comes with our Service Installation Guarantee (SIG). If BellSouth fails to meet an agreed to service installation date at BellSouth's fault, a portion of the non-recurring charges associated with installation will be refunded.
