Wireless to Wireline
BellSouth will support the following wireless porting scenarios:
- Wireline to Wireless
- Wireless to Wireline
- Wireless Type 1 to Wireless Type 2
Porting between wireless and wireline carriers will use wireline porting process and flows based on national agreement at the Local Number Portability Administration Working Group. The following are overviews of the interaction between Wireless Service Providers and BellSouth under various porting scenarios:
Wireline to Wireless, Wireless Type 1 to Wireless Type 2

Steps:
- Wireless Service Provider receives porting request from BellSouth wireline customer.
- Wireless Service Provider submits Local Service Request (LSR) package to BellSouth Local Customer Service Center via FAX, LENS or EDI-XML.
- BellSouth validates order.
- BellSouth Issues Firm Order Confirmation (FOC) to Wireless Service Provider. Due date: no sooner than 3 days from issuance of FOC. BellSouth sends confirmation Subscription Version to the Number Portability Administration Center/Service Management System Database (NPAC/SMS).
- Wireless Service Provider sends Subscription Version "create" to the NPAC/SMS.
- Wireless Service Provider provisions number in their network.
- On due date, Wireless Service Provider sends "activate" message to the NPAC/SMS.
- Upon receipt of "activate" message,the NPAC sends broadcast message containing new routing information to all service providers.
- Upon receipt of the NPAC broadcast message, BellSouth disconnects wireline telephone number and removes it from the 911 database.
Wireless to Wireline
The following summarizes the process used to port Wireless service to BellSouth Wireline service:
Steps:
- BellSouth receives customer request to port wireless service to wireline service.
- BellSouth submits Local Service Request to Wireless Service Provider via FAX.
- Wireless Service Provider sends Firm Order Confirmation (FOC) and Due date to BellSouth. Wireless Service Provider sends confirmation Subscription Version to the NPAC/SMS.
- Upon receipt of FOC, BellSouth sends Subscription Version "create" message to NPAC/SMS.
- On due date, BellSouth sends "activate" message to the NPAC/SMS.
- The NPAC sends broadcast message containing new routing information to all service providers.
- Upon receipt of the NPAC broadcast message, BellSouth establishes a wireline account for the port-in number.
