CHAPTER 5.0 - Interim Master Street Address Guide (IMSAG) |
When the information is input into the IMSAG database, from MSAG Ledger Forms, an interim MSAG Printout is available to provide to the City / County / Parish for verification. The corrections should be marked directly on the printout. After the changes / corrections are input into the IMSAG database by BST, another print may be requested. The last IMSAG print created prior to the cut date is approved and signed by the customer and returned to BST for retention.

Prints of the IMSAG may be obtained, as needed, for each ICO in the City / County / Parish during the conversion period. A single MSAG print may be obtained, either monthly or quarterly, after the system is live. Requests for IMSAG should be directed to the AFIG. Request for an MSAG should be directed to INTRADO. An example of an IMSAG printout follows:

Explanations of the IMSAG print fields:
| FIELD | EXPLANATION |
| 1. Book Number: | The Book Number is a two (2) character ID number assigned to identify the County. |
| 2. Directional: | Indicates a portion of a street. One (1) or two (2) character field; either N, S, E, W, NE, NW, SE, SW, or blank if no directional is present in the address. |
| 3. Street Name: | The name indicating a particular thoroughfare; may be numeric or alphabetic and up to forty-eight (48) characters for the street name. |
| 4. Low Number / High Number: | A range of house numbers from the lowest value to the highest. If the range is unnumbered, blanks will be inserted for the high and low values. If multiple unnumbered ranges exist, asterisks will appear on the subsequent range(s). |
| 5. O/E Indicator: | O=Odd, E=Even, Blank for both or an unnumbered range. |
| 6. Community: | Thirty-two (32) character field that denotes the community in which the street is located. |
| 7. ST: | The two (2) character state abbreviation. |
| 8. ESN: | The three (3) digit Emergency Service Number. |
| 9. EXCH: | Three (3) or four (4) characters representing the exchange. |
| 10. TAR: | Blank or up to six (6) characters. The TAR code is used by BST to identify city and county taxing boundaries. |
| 11. MC: | The one (1) character Municipal Indicator. |
| 12. IC: | The one (1) character Telephone Company Indicator. |
