CHAPTER 9.0 - MSAG Ledgers |
The following steps explain the exchange of the E911 MSAG Ledger between the City / County / Parish and INTRADO / ICO. Examples of the forms and details for their completion will be shown later in this tab.
City / County / Parish Prepares E911 MSAG Ledger:

Instructions: The City / County / Parish completes the E911 MSAG Ledger as follows:
Fields Identified:
| FIELD | EXPLANATION |
| 1. DATE: | Enter the date the form is prepared |
| 2. CITY / COUNTY / PARISH: | Enter the name of E911 customer. |
| 3. SERIAL NUMBER: | Enter the serial number to be assigned in numerical order. |
| 4. TELEPHONE COMPANY NAME: | Enter the name of the telephone company serving the area covered by the ledger. |
| 5. AUTHORIZED BY: | Enter your name. |
| 6. PURPOSE OF LEDGER: | Enter a check in the appropriate box to INSERT, CHANGE or DELETE. |
| 7. COMMENTS: | Enter any information necessary to explain. |
| 8. EXISTING MSAG ENTRY: | Enter only current MSAG information that is being changed or deleted. |
| 9. DIRECTIONAL: | Enter the directional indicator, N, S, E, W, NE, NW, SE or SW. If no directional, leave blank. |
| 10. STREET NAME: | Enter the name of the street including the standard thoroughfare designation (ST, AV, etc.) |
| 11. STATE: | Enter the standard abbreviation for the state. |
| 12. LOW RANGE: | Enter the lowest number in the street address range. If unnumbered, enter a line. |
| 13. HIGH RANGE: | Enter the highest number in the street address range. If there is only one numbered address in the range, the low number will equal the high number. If the range is unnumbered, enter a line. |
| 14. O/E/B: | This describes the range.

| 15. COMMUNITY: | The name of the community in which the street and range exist. In Southern Bell territory, this means incorporated city names and postal areas that have rural route delivery only. |
| 16. ESN: | Emergency Service Number. |
| 17. EXCHANGE: | Entered by the ICO / INTRADO, when appropriate. This data represents the code for the local exchange office which services the street address. |
| 18. DESIRED MSAG ENTRY: | Enter the new MSAG information. (See #8 for field explanations.) |
| 19. FOR INTRADO USE: | Applicable to INTRADO only. |
| 20. RECEIVED: | Enter the date the ledger is received from the City/County/Parish. |
| 21. INPUT TO MSAG: | Enter the date the ledger information is entered into the MSAG. |
| 22. INPUT TO PREMIS: | Applicable to INTRADO only. |
| 23. REFERRED TO ICO (I.A.): | Enter the date the information was referred to the ICO, if appropriate. |
| 24. RETURNED TO CITY / COUNTY/PARISH (I.A.): | Enter the date the ledger was returned to the City / County / Parish E911 customer if appropriate. |
| 25. CLERK'S INITIALS: | Enter the clerk's initials who handled the ledger. |

| 27. RECEIVED: | The ICO will enter the date the ledger is received. |
| 28. REFERRED TO INTRADO: | The ICO will enter the date the ledger was referred to INTRADO for input. |
| 29. CLERK'S INITIALS: | The ICO clerk who handles the ledger will enter his/her initials here. |
The E911 MSAG Ledger Log is used by the ICO and the E911 customer to document the status of outstanding MSAG ledgers. An example of the form and instructions for completing it follows:

| 1. LEDGER NUMBER: | Enter the appropriate serial number. |
| 2. ADDRESS (RANGE, STREET): | Enter the address as shown on the ledger. |
| 3. COVER LETTER SENT / RECEIVED: | ICO: Enter the date the letter is received and when the letter is sent back noting all ledgers enclosed (or discrepancies). |

City / County / Parish: Enter the date the letter is sent to INTRADO and when the letter is received back, noting all ledgers enclosed (or discrepancies). |
| 4. LEDGER REFERRED TO INTRADO: | ICO: Enter the date when ledger was referred to INTRADO for update to the MSAG. |
| 5. AVR (If appropriate): | ICO: Enter the date the AVR was sent for resolution and when returned. |

City / County / Parish: Enter the date the AVR is received for resolution and when returned to the ICO with resolutions. |
| 6. REMARKS: | Use as needed. |
The E911 MSAG Ledger Cover Letter is included with all ledgers sent to INTRADO from the ICO. A copy of the cover letter is shown below:
