2.1 Address Validation

Scenario: You need to validate an address using the telephone number or address information.

1. From the Main Menu, click "Inquiry".

The Inquiry Menu screen appears.

2. In the Inquiry Menu drop down, verify "Address Validation" is selected.

To perform the validation by address information go to Step 5.

3. In the "Telephone/Miscellaneous Number" field, type a valid telephone number.

4. From the "Area" field drop down, select a valid area.

5. Click "Proceed with Inquiry".

The Address Validation screen is displayed.

6. Enter as much information as is available in the appropriate fields.

7. Click "Validate".

8. If the validation fails and a match cannot be found, a message displays in red at the top of the screen explaining the problem. LENS will return details as to what information is needed to identify an address match. Use this information found in the section above the Validate Address section to determine the information/changes needed to complete the validation successfully.

9. When the validation is successful, the Address Validation screen returns with "Completed Successfully" displayed at the top in green.

Note:

LENS inquiry functions allow the user to view information, not create LSRs. Information from Inquiry functions is not brought into Firm Orders.

If the end user does not have an existing telephone number, ask for the telephone number of a neighbor to help with the validation.
